They are definitely RAT like, but a clearer, crisper sounding distortion.

I'm too scared to take mine out on my live board, because of the silly money these things are going for, but just thought I'd add my two pence worth - it's an *amazing* pedal!

It's definitely not a Rat clone -- only similarity is the use of an op-amp for clipping.

Although Rat2 uses opamp for clipping, turborat uses LEDs right? I think the Zeke used Ge diodes, Rat uses Si.
Either way, it's not a Rat clone.
