what are decent headphone to practice with

As I now have a kiddy (ahhhhh) I cant rock out practicing and through my crappy old headphones the sound is crap, can anyone tell me a decent headphone to get for playing your bass through please. Or do I look for a certain spec (not my thing headphones)

I'm using some Sony MDR-EX71 in ear thingys for late noodling & play alongs.

They're about £15 or so from Argos and sound great with an iPod. I have some Beyer DT100s which I've had for years and they're great for monitoring, but not so great for recorded music.

I have to get the soldering iron out tomorrow as one of my cats has bitten through the extension cord for the Sonys. What a charmer.
