Alfie
I have built a few pedals now, but the problem I face most frequently is the varnishing. For previous builds I have used Plastikote Super Gloss clear, but it is far too soft for something that gets trod on, so what should I be using. Would an enamel based varnish be a better option? How about the Plastikote polyurethane varnish that is designed for use on wood, could I use that on metal without issues? I have a couple of builds nearing completion and I would like to make these ones perfect.
Hot Tub
Many years ago I used stuff from Marine International Coatings. Very hard wearing. Dunno if they're still around, but I suspect something for marine applications would be suitable.
Al Heeley
clear 2 part epoxy? That will be bullet proof once cured - same stuff they use to lacquer fretless bass fingerboards. (Yes International coatings Marine varnish, polyurethane is still going)
