HartkeUK
Nate Watts Receives 2010 International Bassist Award On Friday, January 15th, 2010, Nathan Watts became only the second recipient of Hartke's International Bassist Award, a "lifetime achievement" award for bassists. For over 30 years, Nate Watts has been a cornerstone in the world of music, playing on some of the most influential, popular music ever recorded. Since 1974, Watts has been an indispensable part of Stevie Wonder's rhythm section, serving as musical director for the last 12 years. "During the decade he's been with Hartke, Nate has always been a pleasure to work with," says Larry Hartke, founder of Hartke Systems. "In addition to being one of the most important faces of the brand, he's also a true friend." "I'm so proud to receive this award because one of my best friends and mentors, Jaco Pastorius, was the first to get it," says Nate Watts. "I'm honored to be the second to receive it! For Hartke to do this for me, it gives me immense joy and pleasure. I'd really like to thank them for everything."
