slaphappygarry
***Post by ped - unable to make 'new posts' because of PC problems - thanks Garry!!*** I recently made a little video for Vigier with my guitar playing chum to demonstrate the Vigier passion bass and their Excalibur guitar. You can check out some clips of the playing here Hope you like it ;0) ped P.s it was recorded up in the studio owned by Chris in Preston. The signal went from my pod into the computer playing along with tracks we recorded last time, then matched to the video in iMovie. Youtube makes it look a little out of time though! slaphappygarry
Nice man, Lovely bass sound. I loved the bot where all your black hair fell out, it grew long and blond and you started playing guitar. G
ped
Thanks chaps. I suppose when I listen the sound is very unique, due in part to the construction and electronics in these instruments. Only when I have a Jazz bass or something out and then go back to the Vigiers do i realise it. As the three vigs are all I own at the moment, they sound very familiar to me. Of course there is no substitute for knowing your own sound inside out, so that you know how it works in different situations and can really trust your instrument. ped
Managed to embed the video. Cool.

lonestar
Very nice. i really like that sound. Is that a metal fretboard?
ped
Thank you guys! It is indeed metal - well Vigier call it 'Delta Metal', it is a blend between Brass and Zinc IIRC. Some more info here: http://www.vigierguitars.com/html/Descript...dus_excess.html There are some pictures of the finish in my bass porn thread. Cheers for the comments - soon we are making version 2 which will be slightly more scripted and a bit less slapdash! ped
Kiwi
I love that guitarists sound and his playing is pretty cool. Dunno about the bass though, its a bit french. Speaking of which, where are your french mates these days?
ped
Chris, the guitar player, is actually a bit unhappy with his playing there, so version 2 will be less ad-lib and a bit better! The sound is lovely though, isn't it? That's an original pod v.2 he is using. The French strike when you least expect. No one expects the French inquisition

ped
Hello mate, Didn't notice you are from Blackpool area too! It is filmed at Bluebird Studios in St. Annes http://www.bluebirdstudios.co.uk/ which is fairly near Blackpool if I am not mistaken. Me and my brother go up there a fair bit because my brother Tim met Chris the owner of the studio whilst on a technical illustration course up there. Since then the three of us have been laying down our own brand of irritating elevator funk 'muzak' and been getting some business here and there. The studio is fantastic - a very nice setup. Chris tells me the control room has been re-arranged a bit now and is all much neater! The large room is excellent for recording orchestras and big bands. It is a bit of a mission from Oxford but so many happy memories and we can have a walk along the sea front with some plastic boobs and candy floss. Cheers ped P.s Ste I am up there over new year so if you fancy meeting up feel free to get in touch and stop by the studio, I can have a wazz on the Mule! ped
It is very inconspicuous from the outside - situated next to the airfield and basically looks like a brick building from the outside with a subtle logo on the neighbouring unit sign - the logo has changed to a picture of the bluebird land speed car because the chap who built it was local or something - can't remember off the top of my head. hopefully I will see you over new year then! Quite enjoy late night walks to the Tesco after a days recording - coming out of that warm, dark cozy building into a freezing night is like being reborn! MythSte
Ahh yes i think i know where you are. And that area is inconspicuous indeed! would never have guessed. Its a good idea not to shout about it, the estate on the other side of the airfield is a bit on the hairy side!
