People who know me will know it takes a lot to achieve that The finished bass looks so much better than the bits and pieces build pics I've had so far. I'm really hoping they can get it here for my gig next weekend...
Stingray5
OMG, OG! That is rather nice. May we expect a report once you've had a chance to gig it? (Or is that a silly question? )

tredders
Cor Si, that's a bit nice... Last pics I saw of this were of wires and a big chunk of wood. How many basses are you down to now? Still got a cupboard full of P's? :-)

Once the PJ goes off to it's new home I'll be down to three bass guitars: Posh 5 string, posh 4 string and a jam P bass Quite restrained really

OldGit
<Set patience to ON> I've suggested Enrico hangs on to the Ergon for an extra week as he has a few potential customers who want to look at the finished thing. They don't do many 4 string passive basses so it's a bit of an oddity. I'm cool with that as he's been great during the build and very understanding. Apparently my spec sheet was the most extensive and detailed they'd ever had, by a long way..

Can't cope without, these days. I blame my Shuker That's a tale on it's own though as they don't do it normally so I had to source them here and get them sent out. Two lost shipments and some confusion from the supplier caused about a month's delay.
eude
Si, when you next speak to the W&T boyos, can you please ask them to update their website? Mind you I've not heard it either ... it's still in Italy If the plan has worked it should be capable of sounding like a P bass from Jamerson to Lynott and Jean Jaques* plus the J pup tones. * ie vol on full, tone on full, PUP copntrol set to P pup. Then pluck, thumb or pick in different places on the strings Same as any other P bass Edited January 27, 2010 by OldGit

It just annoying to know that there's other W&T basses out there that I can't see. I obviously catch all the ones that come through here or Bass Direct, but I'll bet there's a whole lot more. Your own particular entry is looking fantastic too, real understated class Eude

Mine's a custom so the Ergon is on the site but my specs are individual. I think they plan a "basses we've done" bit Basically you can have any body shape they do (the named basses) but with mods and changes. Mine has a few extra curves

Certainly they seem to produce many stunning basses that seem to fit the same sort of music and players. Jazz and jazz funk sort of stuff. They don't get many calls to make 4 string passive basses
poptart
WT are really opening up there horizons with their most recent basses. Initially I felt that "Fodera esque" would have been a fair description, however I have been pushing them to try some new options and they have been working hard on these newer models getting the finishes and electronics perfected. aesthetically there is more to come! Mark PS - This new bass for Old Rocks rocks IMHO, I can't wait to give a whirl ;-)
