NelsonMondeo
Hello My old man is considering selling his old Pre CBS precision neck with original tuners, He changed the fretboard to a Maple one back in the day, got rid of the body and original pick ups (I know!) and had it replaced with a Jazz Bass body replica made by Gordon Smith when he used to make basses aswell fitted with 70's Fender jazz bass pickups and was just wondering around how much it would fetch as he wants to save up and get a Pastorius (his Hero) style bass. As I am a guitar man i have no idea on how much it is worth but have seen a few sell on ebay for quite a fair bit. Cheers, Jacob
neepheid
Too much "sacrilege" gone on there I think to be worth what you might think it's worth imo. But in the crazy vintage world, who knows? You've got one of the key words sorted out - Pre CBS
Sibob
Not a great deal I'm afraid! My rough guesstimate would be about £400-£500??? The neck isn't really worth anything to anyone with a non-original fingerboard, tuners you could perhaps sell on for £200-300?. Pickups maybe £100-£200 Anyone else? NelsonMondeo
Hey thanks for the reply, I wasnt really expecting it to be for an amazingly great amount, I think he just wants to get some money to get him started to save up for this other bass
