xesusxesus Posted February 8, 2010 Author Posted February 8, 2010 so what do you think? which one of the long history of thunderbird is the best to play and to buy? Quote
retroman Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 IMHO, the current range of Thunderbirds are the best to play ergonomically. They are slightly shorter, and have a much smaller headstock, so they ballance better when playing. Also they have a much slimmer neck. They won't dent your pocket so much I would also consider doing a back to back with the Gibson, and the Epiphone Pro. The last Epi Pro I picked up was really good. To see the size difference between a '76, and a '09 'Bird, have a look in the "Gibson Porn" thread. I have posted pictures of my two together, and you can see the size difference Hope this helps Quote
Stacker Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Anybody tried the Tokai version? Or the Dean Demonator? Quote
xesusxesus Posted February 19, 2010 Author Posted February 19, 2010 anybody tried 5string epiphone thunderbird? Quote
retroman Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Picked one up last week, just to have a look. Didn't play it, but it did look really well built, and finished Quote
Clarky72 Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 I had a Tokai Thunderbird for a year or so. To me, it played so much nicer than the Epiphone, its the closest I've felt in sound and feel to a Gibson, highly recommended!! Quote
ogrimark Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Im a happy bunny, Ordered my Gibson T'bird this afternoon, they don't do it in black anymore so went for the 'classic'. only downside is it could take up to 6 months for it to arrive Quote
