Hi - another newbie

Hi -a quick hello from another newbie.
Live in Burnham on Sea (Somerset) and been a bass player for more years than I care to remember.
Originaly a classicaly trained double bass player, I've probably played in just about every kind of
band you could think of over the years,but these days I play in a Rock Band and a Jazz Band .
My favourite bass is my old Les Paul , but I'm getting lazy these days and tend to use a five string,
less shifting about, been through a few of these and currently on a Yamaha BB but can't seem to
find one I really take to - come here looking for a few suggestions , its not the neck thing ,
after all I play Double Bass as well and to many Bass Guitarists that neck would feel like a lamp post.
As my basses are regularly gigged I need the toughness and reliability of a old fender but want
The Les Paul hummbucker sound.
