Teisco Bass

Hello all, after reading somebody mention Teisco basses in the Kawai bass post I thought I might type it in to ebay for a laugh, have a look at some vintage jap crap or whatever, and most of what I saw was all under the £100 mark apart from two of them, the first was around £300 from everybodys faviroute seller in germany, and the second one was in denmark street, not a vintage one but a re-issue, at a whopping £999! Now are Teisco making some tremendous comeback and starting to make boutique basses, or is the shop in denmark street taking the p*ss by selling a bit of an obscure brand for a lot of money? They say its a faithful reproduction of one from the 1960's.
