How so?
There's a bunch of potterers who hang out in this thread in particular who might be able to help this guy out with a nice old Jap pup.... the reason why I recommended him do it in the first place. :)
Bloody printed word! I was trying to be helpful, but looking back at my post, I should have added "as well" instead of the wink smiley. :)

Finally, a Westbury Track 2 bass at a price that should actually sell. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Westbury-track-2-bas...=item3f0b2db371

Can report him to ebay for copying your stuff, and get auction pulled. Course you make him a lowball offer with your contact details first.

Unusual, with a certain appeal.

I bet that sounds great! Those chunky pickups in certain Westones are really good. Nice to see one in that colour - I think my Spectrum DX was the same originally, but I've not seen photos of one.

Haven't seen one of these for a bit. Azumi Victory

Hi.
I just bought 80s Hohner P and I have to say it`s an excellent bass.
Seller bought it in spring 83 new, dabbled at playing it for a few months, then stuck it in a corner.
I`ll stick some pics up in a bit, but I wanted to ask given that he had 20 watchers, why nobody else bid?
Have a bought a lemon?
I think not, it sounds terrific but, just puzzled about the lack of interest.
Also. if anyone has any info/similar bass etc, please shout up, I can`t find anything online.
Ta,
MM

Thanks for the reply.
Some better pics.

I`d really like to know what model this is, I can`t see Arbor anywhere on it, or "Professional".
The stickers on the back suggest it was bought at Chase Music, which was a large music shop in Manchester in the 70/80s

Do the Arbor or Pro range have a truss rod at the heel or the headstock?
The screws on the body back up the sellers claim that it came with the two chrome covers, but his mate convinced him it made it look old fashioned so he removed and lost them.
I`m not convinced this is 80s, I think it may be a little older.
It`s got rounds on at the mo, though I have a set of D`addario half wounds unused, do you think they would suit or should I just get some decent flats?
Ta for any info.

This claims to be a Japanese made Kay, "probably" made at the Fujigen factory.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vintage-Cort-electri...=item25653016ab

Looks awfully like a Korean made Kay six string that sold some time ago.I don't know for sure, but my gut feeling for this one is "made in Korea".
Is that the ultra rare Kay that is spelt Cort :) :)
Sorry, this has gone over my head. I can only see tiny pictures of everything except the first photo. The brand is listed as "Cort Kay" in the listing, but not the title. It looks a lot like a Korean Cort made, but Kay branded, guitar that sold a year or more ago, and hence I presumed it was in the same range. Is it not?
Sorry my mistake I read it all but the part that said Kay. I thought you had had a brain fade moment because it just mentions Cort everywhere else. . My apoligise
Just back from being outbid by £0.55 on an item :)

I think the seller of the "Cort Kay" bass did his or her level best to hide the "Kay" branding by mentioning it in the least noticeable place possible. I found it because I thought it was a Kay and looked carefully for the word Kay.

Ta Fitzy, would that suggest the bass shared a manufacturer with the Tokais or maybe just used common to Tokai parts?

I had a Korean-made Kay in that shape, but the body was a lot nicer looking than that one. Which doesn't mean anything, as far as where it was made by whom. I don't know where he gets the idea triple brass dot inlays are a Fujigen indication - my definitely-Korean Kay had them, and if anything it seems to be an indication of Cort.

Grant '70s jazz - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vintage-Jazz-Bass-Gu...=item1c1cf36234

Looks quite tidy - don't know much about Grant.

And here's a very nice medium-scale Aria TSB 650.

If I recall correctly, Bassassin had a Grant early on in his playing career. Again "if I remember correctly", he said it was a plie of £#%!.

Very nice looking Ibanez Artist bass. I don't know if this is worth the asking however. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...ME:B:SS:GB:1123

No way it's an '80, the model didn't make it's first catalogue appearance until '87. Hell, I own an AM100 (guitar), one of the earlist Stagemasters, the semi-sold small body type, and it's dated March '83.

Mmm, now you mention it, seems a bit odd! :)

I would have thought it would have been later.
