"Lawsuit" Ibanez Artist bass. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...atchlink:top:en

So, who was it that sued Ibanez for making their own original designs then?

I do miss Jon - and no one writes an eBay advert quite like him:

... on the whole it's a good looking bass, the wear & tear does enhance the impression of an instrument that's led a varied and eventful life. And escaped a burning building while being assaulted by an axe-wielding psychotic.

A Yamaha SBV500. I had one of this, this colour too. Should probably have kept it, it was a decent bass and played very nicely.

OK. Not crap. Definitely not crap. Lovely in fact. Probably overpriced too, but I think it might interest some of the dudes who frequent these parts.

Are Cimar any good? I've seen awesome Cimar Rickenfakers in the past. The second listing here looks beyond repair to me. Kind of glad the neck binding is broke or I'd be bidding on this piece of crap. I have issues. My house is the battersea dog home of completely f***ed basses.

Have we seen This nice Aria TSB 550.

I had the natural version, and now I have the 650N . I much prefer the 4 inline headstock.

It's got a BIN of £150 at the moment, but I'd suggest someone within easy reach of Aberdeen goes for this - I don't like all this talk of bubble wrap and brown paper! :)

thought i would stick it here as someone here may have more info.
Sounds pretty good, need to check the treble side of the preamp as something is buzzing a bit.
not sure what i will do with it, anyone wanna swap it for a jazz shaped bit of japcrap?

That's really nice. My first bass teacher had one just like this, and it was branded Commodore. This was back in 1980 or so. I can't really remember if it was any good or not, but I remember liking the way it looked. We always did lessons on his Fender Precision, so I only played it once or twice.

A good factory. Until concentrating on its own designs in the late 80s, mostly built for other marques - notably Fender clones for Fernandes and Gibson clones for Ibanez. It was the "Strats" and "Teles" Kawai built for Fernandes in the 70s, and Tokai built for Fernandes in the 80s, as well as Tokai’s own clones, that undermined Fender's sales in Asia, and resulted in Fender setting up in Japan.

8 offers. £125 seems like quite a decent price to me so I suspect this won't hang about too long.

I'm always suspicious of "sold for parts" basses. Like if you could be bothered to set it up you could get twice as much for it- it makes me wonder whats wrong with it!

theres also a CSL jazz copy that looks quite nice if out of focus. Of course it had to get the word ibanez in there, even if it probably is a ibby under a different brand this time! Love the up-to-date date stamp on the pics. :) Could mean anything though I suppose... new battery, anything.
