Westone Quantum with a BIN of £200. Bit of a bargain and it comes with the case. AND I reckon if you made an offer of £175-£180 he'd take it.

Interesting bit of blurb there, but I wonder how much of it is true?

The bits saying "THIS IS NOT A MATSUMOKU" probably are.

I liked the gratuitous mention that the Teisco factory was just down the road as well!

Amazing! Here we go again!

This was mine, until last year - see here: http://flatericbassandguitar.blogspot.co.uk/2010/08/photography-and-couple-of-cort-kay.html

They aren't that rare. I had Two!!

Rob's got one - http://www.whitstableguitars.co.uk/1980skaycortvintagebass.htm

To my knowledge, this has now been "Flipped" four times, I think.

Why????????????

This and it's mate are really nice basses.
Jon - Bassassin, also had one.

They are are never going to be an Alembic but would easily hold it's
own against a lot of things that are a lot more expensive!

Hey Ho.

PS The knobs that were on it when I had it, were the same as all the
others I have seen - BLACK! :o

Cheers. :)

Yeah, I was highly sceptical about the whole story - particularly the bit about the Corts being late nineties reissues.

Weirdly enough I was the person on TB who pointed out to Rob that these were Corts - I pointed him towards your site and Bassassin's posts about his.

Just read the post above and on the listing is "other things you may like".

Spotted this.

If you are after a good solid bass, these often go un-noticed (is that how you spell it??)

Great feel, nice neck, punchy sound - I have three of them, did an outdoor thing at
the weekend with mine (identical to the one listed) everyone one said what a great
sound it was.
Not much money for a Very Nice bass.

Laser Electric Heritage (as in the link) and Laser Electric Classic were basically RSB models under another name. Very comfortable necks. Between Jazz and Precision widths and with a shallow modern "C" shape. Almost always available at a bargain basement price.

Really nice SB-900 here -

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/160836045858?_trksid=p5197.c0.m619#ht_1612wt_937

It may go for cheap as it's collection only.
If anyone wants me to pick it up and post it for them (after looking after it for a few days  ) then I'd be happy to!

Bass Collection SB315 with dead front pickup

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bass-Collection-SGC-5-string-active-bass-/290746793682?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item43b1dbfed2

This probably isn't the pickup - I think it's more likely to be the electronics. An Artec SE2A or 3A is eminently fittable, I put a 3A in my SB465.

Looks like walnut stain to me, not oak. Also looks like a European distributor's case not an original for that date. And although I agree with the seller, that the 900, and also the R150, are the ultimate versions of the SB design, these aren't as rare as is being suggested. The ones to collect? A '78 with the PowerPlus pickup, or an '81 in tobaccoburst. Now, those are rare.
