Just spotted this too.... http://www.ebay.co.u...0s/321255048977

Now THAT is gorgeous.

Pity someone has replaced the original and very elegant machine heads with clunky Fender-style ones that don't fit properly!

Edit: And I doubt that they will help with the overall balance of the bass...

Consider punt made then in that case!

B20 Stage Series - had one of them back in the 80s - beautifully made but neck-dive from hell! Still wish I'd never sold it, though...

Very best of luck with the Vulture then, hope you get it for £150!

BigRedX - three of those tuners are original - early ones of these & other MIJ Washburns hd these tuners (AFAIK the ones assumed to be made by Yamaki) and later Matsumoku builds had very nice Schaller M4S clones.

Which is why we're all glad you've returned to enlighten us. My B20-8 has the smaller M4 type, so I assumed that they all had them.

Wikipedia says that later models were made by Matsumoku, but that earlier on a variety of Japanese factories were involved in their manufacturer. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electra_Guitars

Westone Thunder Jet just listed http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321262066650?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 low starting bid of £35 and only £10 postage.

I reckon this will go for a song. These are really nicely made, all black hardware, great necks (22 fret), also much lighter in weight than the 1 series. Sound is a little weak out of the box but a really good starting point for pimping. I stuck a SD 1/4lb'er and a P retro in mine and it was a monster - currently with The Bass Doc having a Musicman humbucker fitted!

Remember that names like Avon, Columbus etc were importer's names stuck on the heads of generic no-brand instruments, which is all this one is. Electra was a US importer brand who sourced from Matsumoku, Fujigen and Kasuga.

This little LP bass really isn't anything special - cheap ply body, junk hardware and single-coil pups in humbucker cases.

Surely this is too much for what it is.

http://www.ebay.co.u...=item3cd94d0f6c

And that description is rather off-putting.
