Annoying Twit Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014
This Seiwa looks nice, headstock/decal resembles an Ibanez, it's only £90, Chepstow's a bit too far for me unfortunately http://m.gumtree.com...tion/1049697587
It does look nice, as does the case. Bassassin Posted February 24, 2014 Author Posted February 24, 2014 Sorry Eric, sadly I missed it too. Seiwas were made by Chushin, weren't they? Chushin's come up on the Facebook JapCrap guitars group & I couldn't remember if they made Seiwa. J. Quote
FlatEric Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Jon, Hi. If you go to my blog, the last posting, you will see another one like mine. I only know of the one I have and Frank's - I was just curious to know if the one on gumtree, was the same model. Cheers. Quote
Annoying Twit Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 (edited) I don't know how much the Westone Panteras go for, but I thought I had a vague memory that they go for good prices. If so, this £130 priced instrument (£20 delivery or collection in Dundee) might be a good price. This would be a good price for a Thunder 1[A]. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item1e87aa33f8 A quick google shows that they continued selling these into 1988, does that mean that some of them were made in Korea? If this is not Japanese, then take back everything I said. Edit: Matsumoku product MIJ on the neck plate. I must look at the details on the photos better in future. Bit dented though. Paul S Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 That is a very good price, I reckon. Very 80s. The real deal is the neck through, 2+2 headstock, top of the range, Westone flagship model Pantera Deluxe II X790 which are exceedingly rare and do go for very good prices (I have one, paid a lot for it). Those cost £600 new in 1987, which was a lot of money then. But I think the pickups and electrics are much the same, in which case it is HOT. I wasn't keen on the tone with roundwound strings but with flats it has been transformed into something rather quite special. Quote

Bassassin Posted February 24, 2014 Author Posted February 24, 2014 Too late again. That Pantera was gorgeous for £130, I would have had no choice... Probably a good thing I missed it - I seriously, urgently, need to downsize. J. Quote

Bassassin Posted February 25, 2014 Author Posted February 25, 2014 Tell me about it. Within collecting distance for me but unsurprisingly it's all over the web (someone on FB gave me a heads-up yesterday) and is bound to be long gone by the time I get organised. Still, as I said, I need to be shifting stuff rather than buying more. Anyone want some JapCrap? J. Quote

I walked away from that Black Eagle (which was still available when I enquired) with only some minor shaking and only a brief panic attack. It's important to remember no addiction is ever beaten, and recovery lasts a lifetime. J. Quote

Here's a Japanese Fender for you. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MIJ-Fender-Jazz-bass-guitar-/301107782355?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item461b6c22d3 All you need to do is bid, say, £25 on it. Much of the fun of actually seriously bidding, without the risk of large pieces of carved wood arriving in the post. Quote
