Happy Jack
So, are the fretwire "markers" raised above the surface of the board like actual frets, or have they just laid the tang part into the board, leaving a flat surface?
They're perfectly sunk at both top and sides to leave a completely smooth surface. Put some Rotosound flats on it and she sings now ... harmonics are particularly clear and bright. Mwah is no more than OK but that's almost certainly my poor technique. I was wrong about the weight. On the scales she comes in at nearer 9 lbs, which is a lot heavier than I thought. The moral of this story is: Don't play an 11 lb Fender Roscoe Beck for a month and then try judging the weight of another bass!

Moos3h
Now that really irritates me, it's an advert - why do people not read these things back to themselves? Also, you don't have to be David Bailey to realize that when taking photos of a guitar, it might be wise to use portrait orientation. Gah. Tell you what, I'll give you a couple of hundred for the Fender and that'll mean you got the Ibanez for free - how about that?! Seriously though - that looks very nice indeed. I don't get on with fretless, otherwise we may have had a bit of a bidding war on our hands! Pluck
Happy Jack
I'm still getting to grips with the intonation. You have to play ON the "frets" to hit the right note, rather than just behind them. After years of trying to play consistently just behind the fret, it's a bit of a struggle to avoid doing it now! In my (very limited) experience of fretless playing, it's usually best to avoid looking at the neck when playing. Just wish I had the confidence to do that. I'm not sure that the intonation as such is actually "wrong", it's more a matter of where Ibanez have put the markers. If I try to adjust the intonation to move the "right notes" to just behind the markers, I suspect that I'll open a can of worms. If My Ricky Fretless sells, then the Ibby will be my only fretless and it will actually be easier to modify my (non-existent) fretless technique. They've got two forum-loads of rabid Rick-owners to do it for them! They might send the occasional C&D letter to US-based importers of dodgy Chinese knock-offs but The Rickenfaithful do most of the legwork. However, the web & Ebay have made Rick copies that much more visible, and therefore the activity in shutting down sales is similarly higher in profile - as dictated by the requirements of US trademark law. Luke - that's a Westone Thunder, de-fretted so not getting the money he wants. I think it started at £200-ish; if it gets to £50 I might have a punt... J.
