I quite fancy that. I think the starting price is bloody stupid though.

I'm old enough to remember when Jedson were considered sh*te. The daft Telecaster shaped bass was a hideous thing to play IMO.
This guy also has a Kay HideousBacker, which I'll be watching. If it doesn't go stupid, I will have a punt just to get the machine heads.

Early Jedsons, like the one you mention, were cheap & nasty but the later & higher-end ones were decent quality. There are Jedson geeks who will pay a fortune for the Matsumoku-built Les Paul copies, the "proper" Telecaster clones & some of the acoustics.

This bass was sold branded as Jedson & a few other names but most were unbranded. They're pretty well-made as it happens & I'd quite like one to match my guitar version of the same thing!

OK, sloping back to the corner I should be in :) .
Please tell me I'm right with Kay HideousBacker though?

You're quite right that the Jedson Tele things (made by Guyatone) were horrid!

And that Kay? Taiwanese garbage, not even fit for firewood. And that includes the tuners! :)

Kay, yes - Teisco/Japanese - no.

Taiwanese rubbish, personally I've never seen a confirmed MIJ Kay.

Yes & he's fitted an 18" replacement speaker to his Bass Baby too!
Bloody hell - that must have taken some cabinet modification to fit that in, it's a good job though 'cos you can't see the joins.
Ibanez Roadster with hard case. And someone bid £1 on it :) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1981-Ibanez-Roadster...=item27b835bff4
Was there a BIN on it?
I don't know. It was £1.20 when I first saw it.
I thought it may have been one of those that had a silly low BIN and then someone starts bidding....

Having said that, I'm after this!

There's a Westone Thunder III on eBay here finishing in 12 hrs, bidding currently at £165. I was having a little think about this myself but changed my mind. The Thunder IIIs have been going for around £350 just lately so it will be interesting to see where this ends up.

I'd say this is worth about £350. I made an offer of considerably less, which was turned down within seconds. If anyone is thinking of buying it, hopefully my lowball offer may have prodded the seller a few millimetres towards reality.
