Guest MoJo
I recently picked up an Ibanez GSR190 as a back-up to my Yamaha BB414 and it's a great little bass. Balances well, shallow neck profile, good access to the dusty end of the fretboard and quite a pleasing array of sounds. the only thing that narks me slightly is that it appears to be far more susceptable to picking up interference from dimmer circuits etc than the Yamaha. Both basses are passive, the pick-up and control cavities on the Yamaha are unshielded whereas the Ibanez's control cavity is. Is it just down to lower quality electronics? How effective is the copper shielding sheets one can buy on eBay at reducing this effect? Thanks Mark
