Cat Burrito Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 (see attached image) Looks like the 4001 / 4003 to me as the majority of Rickenbacker guitars have straighter headstocks but I just wanted to triple check. This is from a cool picture I liked. Quote
Huw Foster Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I'm not familiar with Rickenbackers at all, but judging from the size of the tuners I'd say it's definitely a bass! Quote
Clarky Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 'Tis a 4001/4003. The tuners are staggered due to assymetric headstock shape Quote
Stylon Pilson Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 It's definitely some variety of stringed instrument. S.P. Quote
Cat Burrito Posted January 27, 2010 Author Posted January 27, 2010 Marvellous. Just a shame this thread now remains in the public domain with more than a hint of the suggestion that I might be an idiot! Quote
Marvin Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 It's more than likely to be a Ricky because it looks very similar if not identical to this, which is definitely a ricky. Quote
Bassassin Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 It is a Rickenbacker 4003. Not a 4001, because it doesn't have a skunk stripe, and not a copy, because it has the correct short-shaft Schaller tuners. You can just about see the "Rickenbacker" logos on the tuners - compare it to this big version of the pic Marvin posted: http://www.soundmeout.com/store/images/Ric...03%20Tuners.jpg Jon.
