I'd be intrigued to see the internals of this one .

musicman1 Posted January 28, 2010 Author Posted January 28, 2010 i will show you the inside this time with super neat wiring
musicman1 Posted January 28, 2010 Author Posted January 28, 2010 there are alot of cheap versions of these about witch crap switches and jacks and poorly made boxes. this is hand made, powdercoated and assembled using the best possible switches and components. i made it for my dissertation i was'nt going to make it out of sh*t.
umph Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010
there are alot of cheap versions of these about witch crap switches and jacks and poorly made boxes. this is hand made, powdercoated and assembled using the best possible switches and components. i made it for my dissertation i was'nt going to make it out of sh*t.
switches don't really get much better after you spend about 3pounds on them and jacks about a quid obviously you still get the ocasional duff one but i'd like to see these components you've used to justify this cost.
Mr. Foxen Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 How well did you score on spelling and grammar in your dissertation? Can you post a copy up, I'm curious as to the thinking behind these sort of products, being a 'true-bypass sceptic'?

musicman1 Posted January 29, 2010 Author Posted January 29, 2010 inside of the thing
musicman1 Posted January 29, 2010 Author Posted January 29, 2010 i tied out different switches from £1-10 and the cheapest ones only lasted 2 weeks then broke, the pins came loose and the plastic rocker inside broke. the switches are £10 each and have lasted over 3 years so far. you only get what you pay for.
Silent Fly Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Very clean build musicman1. Can I ask where you purchased the enclosure?
crez5150 Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Looks good to me but it sounds quite expensive....
Silent Fly Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 I am not a moderator but why don't we all give musicman1 a break. If we are interested and we think the price is right we buy it otherwise we don't.

I'd also like to know where you got the enclosure from, I built something similar (but contolled by a PIC for switching combinations of loops) and had to use an aluminium U section to house it in.
umph Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 it's a hammond one isn't it? i'm not sure if these ones are as long http://www.pedalpartsplus.com/mm5/merchant...gory_Code=ENC14 nice job on the wiring by the way! I normally just make sure the switches i get are ROHS and have been tested and avoid cheap chinese ones like the plague
