Pete Academy
I've just played the new 50th Anniversary Jazz. Looks gorgeous and plays like a dream. A real vintage tone, too. Winner.

Cat Burrito
Pete I posted a thread on these a couple of weeks ago. It sure does look great. I love the matching headstock. Not sure I like the price so much though.

faceman
Fancy taking my Rickenbacker in for part exchange and some cash Pete?
Stompbox
Yes I saw this too - I got an Email from the Fender site announcing its new products & this was on it. Like you say it's a real stunner, but hey - a spare £1900 - not at the moment. I really love Jazz basses and I bet this is yet another great example. I might have to settle for one of the Squier Vintage Modified as finances are at present - only £275 or thereabouts for one of those & a really nice neck (on the one I tried, anyway). Pete Academy
Woodenshirt pointed out it would look better with neck binding, and I have to agree.
BobVbass
yeah I played one a few weeks back - lovely - not sure it's £1900 worth of lovely tho - about £700 there for the logo I think!

Anyone got any idea why Fender put out a '70s reissue Jazz and atgged it as a 50th Anniv? This is lost on me.
