[quote name='retroman' post='734532' date='Feb 3 2010, 09:34 PM']Hopefully this thread hasn't been done before?

Anyway, here are some shots of my Cherry Red 1967 EB2C, to get the ball rolling

Spotted your Gibbo in the above same pic in the Music Man Porn thread (and of course your avatar).
I had a tobacco sunburst EB2-D around 1973/74 bought from Sound City in Shaftesbury Avenue.
Not long after I bought it, I had luthier Sam Li re-finish it in blonde with black binding.
I loved the look of the bass but, sadly, I never really got on with it at the time and ended up selling it on.
I certainly wish I had it now. And as nice as the blonde refin turned out, if I had it now, I think I'd keep it in the sunburst.
Ah well, we live and learn.... :)

Love your 'Ray too, of course!

Cheers Chaps

The 'Ray I kind of have a love hate relationship with. It's gorgeous, but I find it difficult to play for some reason. I'm starting to think about selling her.... :)

The EB2 I have had for about 8 years now. I don't use her much, as she doesn't really fit with what we do. I got her from Electro in Doncaster, and chopped in a Mex Jazz V for her. She's in remarkably good condition, and has a lovely crazed patina to the original nitro cherry finish. Sadly though, at some point in her past, she has had the usual head stock break, but it's been really well repaired. The sound is absolutely huge and fat. I had her plugged into the SVT last week, and WOW!! A few years back, I had her plugged into my full Trace V-Type rig, and there was plaster falling from the ceiling in the rehearsal room!!!

There seems to be a few sunburst EB2's turn up on evilbay every now and again, but the cherry ones do seem a fair bit rarer.

Nice Thunderbird Alex. She looks like a minter

My 1978 G-3's been in a thread already but what the hell:

I think I'll get a black switch tip, that white one looks silly :)

Cheers, it's not perfect, got the usual marks in the usual places you would expect on a Thunderbird. Just general playing wear, nothing major.

I remeber this, didn't you put some of the metal parts in coke to clean them up?

Always fancied having a go on a G3. Very distinctive looking bass. Funny about the switch tip.....I wish my EB2 had the correct white/ very light grey one on! :)

The 76 bird has landed, I'll get some pictures up later

I didn't realize the Triumph bass also had the 'Recording' tag to it's model name (according to the Flyguitars website).
Is that '69 bass a Les Paul 'Recording' model too? :)
Very nice instruments with bags of nostalgia!

The '90's Epiphone Rivoli can be had for quite sensible money. It was a reissue that was made in Korea?

I wound up losing about an hour last night on the flyguitars website  In the end, I had to stop, as the sofa was absolutely soggy with drool!! :)
