Heartbreaker
The duel rig above was one I used about 20+ years ago. Yup the Mudbucker certainly lives up to its name, floor shaking. Below is my current stereo rig I use with the Rick & Bi amped with the other basses. The big Markbass rig I used about 18 years ago when I needed to be heard above the 2 Marshall stacks either side of me. Too much is never enough!

Peejay
'78 RD Artist. Had it from new. Bit of an issue with the output but should get it fixed shortly. Sounds awesome and really versatile. Great for upper body muscle tone too as it weighs a ton.
Basvarken
Woke up this morning to see that my book is featured in Australian guitar talkshow 'On the Couch". Very nice to get this kind of appreciation from Down Under! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7UwSF2uE_8w
Clarky
My recently-acquired, near-mint 2015 SG Bass, the year Gibson included a bunch of upgrades (notably Babicz bridge and thicker rosewood board).
Peejay
Update on the RD Artist (finally) Phil from MOR in York (awesome guy!) finally sorted things. One of the power feeds from the battery was dodgy and the RD is back to life! Moog circuit board is a bit tired but hopefully it will hang in there. OK, the bass weighs more than a small planet, but a wide strap helps a little and it's so easy to get the tone you want. These basses are so underrated. Basvarken
This is a five string Gibson Thunderbird Studio from 2005. Gibson hasn't offered many five string bass models over the years. This is one of the very few official releases. The traditional Thunderbird design was changed on the Studio version (both four-string and five -string): the body shape is slightly smaller and the edges are rounded off. A major change in the construction is the use of a glued in neck rather than the traditional Thunderbird neck through construction. And the use of the 3D bridge is also a deviation to the previously used bridges on Thunderbirds. The Thunderbird Studio is featured on page 138-139 in The Gibson Bass Book by the way. JohnDaBass
6 hours ago, Bagman said: That looks very rock and roll what does John Birched mean? John Birch built some fantastic guitars and basses in the late 60' and early 70's. He designed and made his own pick-up's which had 9(?) pole pieces. John also modified guitars and basses by adding his pick-up's and wiring. So the term "Birched" refers to the EBO having a Birch pick-up added at the bridge with the additional wiring. Slade used John Birch guitars or check out Dai Shell's John Birch SG on Sassafras YouTube vids.

BassAgent
Question for you Gibson aficionados: when did Gibson introduce the string mute on the EB-2?
Joebethell
From my little bit of fact checking and knowledge it appears it was developed in 1960 and introduced later the same year on EB models but I could be wrong as I'm not really an expert.
