My beloved 62 Gibson EB3. I've had her for many years & I use her all the time especially for gigging, she's vertually mint despite being 50 years old next year, sounds & plays like silk.

Hi Big Stu, no its a chromed plastic frame that were fitted to the earliest EB3's. They were not chromed from about 63 on. You can see on the picture where my thumb has rubbed some of the chrome off from playing.

Sorry for the delay - and thanks - genuine case of learning something every day.

Here's mine - A 2000 Les Paul Standard Bass:

I love that. Probably the only Gibson bass I could ever be pursuaded to buy, (having dabbled in Gibboland enough not to try again), a honeyburst les paul standard, stunning, scarce model in the UK too. Nice one.

Hey guys,This is 76' Grabber, I got the maple neck sanded down as it was pretty worn. Refinished in gloss and refretted. Replaced the original bridge with a Hipshot A style 18mm, string thru holes lined up perfectly!

Body will be refinished when I get around to it, but I am very happy with the way it plays and how the bridge worked out!

Love the Goldtop, very nice!! :)
Have to agree, whether 4 or 6 strings LPs always look 'right' with a Goldtop.

Im loving those Grabbers! Is that Burgundy or something similar, Zydian?
It's a wine red one, but the color actually looks more brown'ish.

Anyone like EB3s? heres a tasty first year 1961 Gibson EB3 with a lovely cherry colour still mostly unfaded - an absolutely killer bass with a great fat neck

Plus I recorded it through some vintage amps (60s Ampeg B15, Gibson Atlas, 70s WEM dominator bass) - listen to the sounclips here
