Just bought a second hand rockbass corvette, I'm pretty sure it is the passive versoin as i cant find a battery anywhere :)

Anyway, when i plug it in, the volume is very low, I have checked the amp with my other bass and it's fine so I am not sure what is wrong?

Please help!

I used to have one and it was exactly the same. You can try raising the pickups, but I think it may be the fact that the stock pickups are just wound like that, to be honest.

If it's the one with 4 control knobs then surely it'll be active? Therefore it's puzzling that you can't find a battery, maybe the seller had switched the original electrics out for a passive set up?

I have checked the website and the passive version has 4 control knobs also...

When i say quiet, i mean it's the same volume in my 300 watt marshall at half volume as my other bass is at half volume in my 30, yes 30 watt marshall... :/

Didn't you say the seller had to fiddle with some wires to make it work? Maybe a simple loose connection, you can find the wiring diagram here:
