If you had a1974 P-bass would you take the risk of saying you didn't know and get £200 for it or would you get it checked out? Quote
bassbloke Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 That neck looks pristine for a 36 year old instrument. Quote
OldGit Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 "plate number" would be one from 1960, according to guitar dater .. Avoid.. Quote
The Burpster Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Looks like it could be some sort of Fendery kinda thing (more than likely a MIM) and well worth £250, as for it being a 1974....... We can all agree that is unlikely. Quote
warwickhunt Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Well that's his backside well and truly covered when it turns out to NOT be a 1974! The nail in the coffin is that he can't/won't supply any more/better pics and I assume someone has asked him for any info that might be visible when the neck is removed... Quote
bigsmokebass Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 could be wrong but didn't know badass bridges were around in the 70's &would you really put one on a 70's bass or keep it vintage? Quote

[/quote] Badass have been making bridges since the early 70s, and they were a common retrofit on Rickenbackers, then P-Basses, then it peaked in the early 80s. Quote
