Mike Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 Is anyone able to shed light on this, or is it an in-joke to which I'm not party? Quote
Alpha-Dave Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 (edited) I recognise poptart and oldgit ... Edit: ... and from the basses, its the Wood & Tronics stock of BassDirect. Edited October 29, 2007 by Alpha-Dave Quote
paul, the Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 Look at the hand body language. It says so much. Great pic, guys. Slightly unfair that Simon has that much hair and a soul patch. Soul patch Quote
SJA Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 bah, it's the Jehovah's bass witnesses again.... Quote
onslo Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 Haha, yeah... the hand gestures which they have when holding their basses are all really different. Perhaps it says something about their personalities. The first is almost afraid to touch his. The second loves to touch his. The third is not bothered about touching his. And the last is very dependant on his. Quote

Buzz Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 I know Oldgit (Si) is on the right, the other 3 are a mystery. Quote
OldGit Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 (edited) Allow me to elucidate. Left to right Nick Brown, brave host of the Wood and Tronics / Bass Direct inaugural meeting and owner of several mouth waterinlgy beautiful basses. I'll leave him to fill you all in, should he wish to, but one is the brand new gorgeous chocolate brown Wood & Tronics he is delicately supporting. Enrico Pasini the main man at, and designer of, Wood & Tronics basses gently strangling one of the Bass Direct W&T basses Mark Stickley of Bass Direct who was picking up the two W&T's for his stand at the Music live show this weekend And me leaning some ol' Shuker P5 I happened to have along with me A fine afternoon of chocolate pudding and bass guitars Oh and I apologize unreservedly for still having my own hair and a soul patch I also wear purple and talk to myself at bus stops it's part of the fun of being an old git. poptart Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 OMG - is that how we really look!! Only joking, it was a quickly posed photo designed to capture the moment and what a great moment. I have to say that apart from meeting such great people the basses did the talking - Pete has possibly the finest collection of basses I have had the oportunity to see/play and what a gent! Thanks for the memories. Oh - and I did want to touch the bass, just not on the headstock particularly. Actually, I think Old Git comes out well in that photo compared to real life Quote

stingrayfan Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 Are they trick or treaters? Give em a Twix each and they'll go away. Quote

Pugz Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 I'm this close-- to buying one of those very W&Ts. Played one earlier today.. well yesterday...early morning hours now ^^ Incredible basses. Quote
Nick Brown Posted November 3, 2007 Author Posted November 3, 2007 Definitely not scared to touch mine, that's a demonstration of economy of effort. Thanks to Mark for re-christening me as Pete It was certainly nice to meet the guys and spend the day talking bass. The other parts of the collection are as follows :- Fodera Anthony Jackson Presentation 6 string F Bass BN6 6 string STR 648 6 string Fodera Monarch 4 string Amplification by Bergantino and Millennia. Plus of course the new Wood & Tronics Zoid that Enrico designed. Which I have to say is an extraordinary piece of work. I will get some more pictures of this bass in the near future but for anyone interested Mark has some, that Enrico took, posted on his site. We all had a great day, as OldGit said a day of bass guitars and chocolate pudding. Big thanks to my missus for the catering. Pugz, good to hear your positive response to the Wood & Tronics basses. I look forward to seeing what you decide. Quote
