Happy Jack Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Low End Bee / Happy Jack join forces We're playing The Gunnersbury - formerly known as The John Bull - opposite Gunnersbury tube station on Friday 19th February. For logistical reasons The Jetsonics will go first. Technically speaking, I guess that makes this my first ever headlining gig. So that's two West London Basschatters, playing at a weekend, at a serious music venue with excellent transport links, and the pub sells decent beer at pub prices. What's not to like? Hope to see a few more Basschatters at the gig. Quote
Clarky Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Would love to come along, me being all local like, but will be hitting the pistes in the Alps that week. If its a roaring success (as I'm sure it will be), fancy a replay adding a third West London BC'ers band? Quote
Happy Jack Posted February 7, 2010 Author Posted February 7, 2010 Hmmm ... originals, punk, and classic rock covers all on the same bill? This could get eclectic. I'd better bring an eclectic guitar. Quote
Jerry_B Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 I will try to come along if possible (depends on how knackered I am from teaching all day). Quote
Low End Bee Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Erm....about pyrotechnics and fancy footwear. They may well be on the cards..... Quote
Jerry_B Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 I'm planning on being in the audience, perhaps bringing a few mates too. Quote
Jerry_B Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 You'll have to buy me at least one pint before I put out though... Quote

Jerry_B Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 They make it in Somerset , which is where I originally hail from, so... er... ah, what the hell - no And at least if you lot aren't any good and I start throwing bottles, Babysham ones won't hurt much Quote
thunderbird13 Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 I'll be able to make it for a while for an hour or so Quote
xilddx Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 I should be able to make it too. This is getting to be the Chiswick Bass Bash. Quote
Jerry_B Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 I'll get there for around 8ish or so - me and two other people. Mind you, we're getting there by car from Forest Hill so I hope the traffic's not going to be bad. Quote
thunderbird13 Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 thats a point - what time is everyone getting there I could make it for 6.30 but that might be a bit early Quote
Jerry_B Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 And how are we going to recognise each other? Rush the stage at the end or something? Quote

Happy Jack Posted February 18, 2010 Author Posted February 18, 2010 Haven't you all received your Basschat lapel pins yet? Ah well, in that case just wear the official Basschat Club tie. It'll look fine with a blazer and some smart casual crimplene slacks. Quote
Jerry_B Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 I'll just look for anyone staring too intently at what the bassists are playing... Quote
xilddx Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 I'm fairly easy to recognise and I've met Thunderbird13 and Jack before, look for long dark hair and hat, with a white carnation and a copy of The Times, just for a belt and braces approach to bass player recognition Quote
thunderbird13 Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 If it makes life easier I'l be wearing an Iron Maiden T shirt - and carrying a copy of The Times ( singapore edition ) Quote

Cheers. Quote
xilddx Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Brilliant evening! Great fun, great bands! Had a good old dance with my fellow Basschatterers and Ad was kind enough to give me a lift home! Thanks Ad Quote
