Sibob
Yeah, they're very coarse....precisely the reason I don't like them at all! Si
Linus27
I use them. Have done for 23 years. I always use Elite Stadiums 45 - 105. Love them, great strings.
Wil
I used to use them - they had a good sound out of the box but went dead quite fast and felt coarse (not as bad as Rotosound .66s, though). Also, I did get the occasional dead string in a set, or the occasional string with odd overtones, which is the main reason why I stopped using them. They were quite like DR highbeams in sound and feel, come to think of it, but I far preferred the DRs. Grand Wazoo
Rumour has it they are made by Rotosound. I don't know wether to believe it or not. Edited February 7, 2010 by bass5

Stacker
Elites are the worst strings I have ever played. Used them once back in the '90s and never again. Edited February 7, 2010 by Stacker

I've never had a bad set of Elites and they're usually around £15, i've paid £30+ for strings before and got the odd duff one They are quite coarse but i find them really easy to play, great for RHCP style lines and they respond well when you dig in. They're also tough as hell
Wil
Elixers are IMO fantastic. They're now the only strings I'll use.

Conan
I've used Elite double-ball ends on my Status for donkey's years. Never had a problem with them. I've not tried the more expensive options simply because I've never felt the need to!!

Rich
Used Rotos for years until I had two duff sets on the trot. Changed to Elites, used them for years until I had two duff sets on the trot. Changed to Warwick Reds, have used them for years and they've been great. And sooooo cheap too Although I'm changing to heavier nickels now. But for steels, I definitely recommend the Warwick Reds. stinson
Got a dead set of Elites on my Precision, sounds bloody great, got a nice Andy Rourke, Martyn P. Casey tone. Am going to go for a set of nickel lowriders next time to see what the fuss is about.
Kraken
I used Elites for about 8 years, up until about 3-4 years ago they were fantastic. Then they changed, they went dead quicker, the sound became very thin despite everything else being set the same and as noted they didn't feel the same to play. I changed to D'Addario Nickel strings and they are keeping me happy at the moment.
PaulWarning
I used Elites for a while, sound great new, but soon lose their zing, prefer Elixirs now not as bright new, more expensive, but cheaper in the long run, they last ages even when they've started shedding their skin
Adrenochrome
Elites nickels are my main choice now. Never had a problem with them being particularly rough - have y'all got soft fingers?
BigBassBob
I use Elites Stadiums 40-100 on my Rickenbacker 4003. They just seem to compliment the bass really well, but for some reason they never seemed to feel or sound right with any Fenders I've tried them with :S
