Actually, this raises an interesting question: for a given model of bass from (say) Ibanez, how many are usually produced? Anybody in the industry know typical figures?

As a comparison, Epiphone's limited edition thunderbirds such as my alpine white one was a run of 500.

Much more sensible. Warwick also seem to keep their Limited Editions to two or three hundred. Mind you, if I was Hans-Peter Wilfer I'd keep the numbers down just to save my headstock-signing hand.
