Just got a Fafner and basically when I play through it it buzzes. It sounds like the battery in an active bass dying if you know the sound, but it happens with various basses, various leads, both cabs I have and another head through them sounds fine so its definitely the Fafner. Wondering if anyone could think of the problem or has had similar issues?

Thanks guys

Its a tube pre right? open it up and see if they're seated firmly. If that doesn't do the trick i've got some spare Pre-amp valves I can nip over and try if you fancy. Bit of a shot in the dark as im not too up on these things, but its easily checked.

yeah already opened up the top this morning. Valves seems to be seated right. Found a wandering screw though which I tracked down to be from one of the circuit boards so now thats done... Annoyingly the rest of my rig is at the practise room so I'm gonna have to wait til Monday to check if its made any difference :)

Got mine second hand, it was a little fuzzy, bought a new
valve for £17, result = perfect. :)

If you get stuck with no joy after trying it, give Bernie a shout at GB guitars... He's the man for all things EBS.

I assume you do have the drive knob set to zero ?

Hah! Yes managed to figure that out :) Gave Bernie a ring and he suggested putting a lead linking the out and in of the effects loop because they oxidise slightly or some such stuff. Will be giving that a go, fingers crossed!
