Lightweight tuner replacements for early 80s P Special?

I'm going to take Beedster's advice and try to lighten my Precision Special.

Does anyone know what lighter weight tuners will be a fit without drilling new holes?

Been looking at the deluxe tuners with the black back, but don't fancy drilling holes for the locating pins.


Any ideas?

I have just put Hipshot Ultralite 1/2" on my Geddy Lee neck and they fit fine, You do have to drill 1 new hole for each tuner but it will be covered up if you put the original tuners back on.

I am keeping all the black hardware for the time being, but you never know!
