I was looking at one of these to put my Hartke LH500 in with a few other bits, with some heavy duty corners fitted on it etc, but is this stuff just as flimsy as IKEA stuff? or will the heavy head inside it keep it's structural integrity up?

Well, the 2U case can support a whole 32" monitor! They weigh about 20kg max, so i don't know if that is really saying much...

However, they do say they're made out of MDF, which is stronger than plywood or chipboard, so i think it would be stronger than a bit of ikea rubbish (normally made of chipboard). I like them! they look pretty swish.
