Bizarre "Marshall" 4x10 on ebay

Spotted this one :

Listed as a marshall 4x10. No badge on front, carpet covered, steel grille. But the badge on the back reads "Model 1940 Bass 8x10" - are we seeing a heavily hacked 8x10 or has someone found the badge in a box somewhere?

If it is a cut-down 8x10 the speakers might be useful to someone out there.

Well, whatever its origins, it's been hacked about by someone. The top overhangs the edges with screws sticking out of the covering.

Horrible bodge job.
