Mike Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Hi all I have movable string saddles on my KS Burner -very handy, but the G string is all the way over so that the string is sitting very near the edge of the neck. I'd like to move it back but I cannot get it to spin round so it moves closer to the other strings. I have tried to get extra purchase by using various cloths to try and spin it with no luck. A bit of WD40 hasn't helped either. Any thoughts? Regards Mike Quote
chris_b Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Isn't there something called penetrating oil which gets into these joints? Quote
Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 hit it with a great big hammer? Quote
Mike Posted February 15, 2010 Author Posted February 15, 2010 I actually have considered that. I've taken it off, cleaned it, dried it, oiled it, everything. So frustrating! I don't want to have to buy special oil for one tiny saddle - do you think that's the only solution? Very annoying! Quote
Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I hope you're replying to Chris's suggestion & not mine Quote
MoonBassAlpha Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 WD40 oil should do the trick. You might need to grip it with some small pliers to get it moving. Use a bit of card to protect the bridge. Quote
