Jerry_B
After reading all this I'm wondering what particular type of pointy Pro II I bought in 1988. I don't have it any more but a mate of mine may still have it somewhere.

Musky
What's the story behind that? I always wondered how instruments end up bolted to pub walls.

Bassassin
What model is the bass, & is the number stamped on a neckplate? The 70s 'Steel Adjustable Neck' plates have numbers which appear to be random and cannot be dated. Info & pics would help.
Newfoundfreedom
I'd start with going to the pictures, then out for a nice meal.

That plate makes it a late 80's, early 90's Korean model....I'm a bit late to the party I know😉

Seven digit serial numbers date from the 80s, covering the period '81 through '90. The first digit gives the year. Yours is a seven digit, starting 7, making it a 1987. There weren't many models in the XRB series, but what ones were manufactured appeared between '87 and '89. To the best of my knowledge these were manufactured in Japan, although Aria did move a large portion of its production to Korean at this time, '87 onwards. So what year is my sb900 bass serial number 008144 ?
Cliff Edge
My TriSound TSB 650, serial no. 119064 with Matsumoko stamped neck plate was dated November 1979, production number 64, by some Aria guru on Talkbass a few years ago. 1979 would appear correct as the headstock shape changed from Fender style 4 on the side to the more familiar Aria style 2+2 in 1980 along with a name change to Thor Sound.

Hellzero Posted Friday at 12:32 Share Posted Friday at 12:32 I guess you want to know the year of manufacturing?
Hellzero Posted Friday at 12:42 Share Posted Friday at 12:42 If it's the year, it's 1981, but are you sure it's really an SB700 as models are not that easy to spot correctly?
dudewheresmybass Posted Saturday at 13:16 Share Posted Saturday at 13:16 Thanks for that. it has an inlay at the end of the fretboard saying sb700.
