Owen
I have set up an OC2->Syb5 (with mod pedal)->G5->Adrenalinn signal chain. There are so many options my head is hurting. I have come up with some SUPERB sounds, but it is all so randomly chaotic that I don't really know that I could rely on finding them when I need them. Has anyone messed with a Waldorf Pulse Plus? It is a monophonic 2U rackmount analogue synth but has an analogue input so that we could plug our basses in and use all the filterage in there. It has 40 user presets. I find this idea of gettting a great sound and then being able to access it when needed strangely alluring.
tinez
i had a normal version (without the audio input and cv) . the sound of filters is amazing. one thing that bothered me is that every parameter had value range limited by midi standard (0 - 127) so sometimes you could hear "stepping" between each value. Since the plus version has cv in, maybe using it to control the parameters bypasses voltage to midi conversion and makes it sound more fluid. i'll definitely buy a pulse someday again - great synth for the price. the plus version is pretty hard to find though. you can also check out dave smith instruments evolver - it has audio inputs and a step sequencer. never had one, but samples on their site are awesome
Owen
Hmmm it seems that a lot of the Dave Smith stuff has analogue ins on them. I will delve further. Thanks.
dannybuoy
The Novation Bass Station has analogue inputs and can be used in the same way.
