viola bass

im thinking of getting a epiphone viola base. it will be my first guitar and i will be playing bass in my acoustic band. i have read the reviews that say it is ok acousticly and electric. any help or advice welcome

Acoustic basses with full bodies can't keep up with acoustic guitars (unplugged) so a Viola bass will have no chance.. you'll have to amplify it.

Quite true. If you can truly get such low volumes, you could try one of the Tanglewood large bodied electro-acoustics.

thanks for the advice guys, i know i say we play acoustic but the acoustic guitar player is amped up, would you still advise a tanglewood.

so now im torn between the viola bass, or a tanglewood TAB1-CE Acoustic bass. bearing in mind i am a beginner on guitar, only experiance on stringed instrument is as a beginner ukulele player. like i said we have an acoustic guitar player that is amped up still with a pick up. any help advice
