Bankai
Hi guys, Ive been looking around for a new amp and I think I've found a good'un. Details are: Hartke HA3500 Head Hartke 210TP Cab Hartke 115TP Cab And the guy is after £500 for the lot. Is this a fair price? Should I put in an offer for less? Should I infact steer completely clear of this kit anyway because it's crap? (I hope not... ) Thanks. Al Heeley
If it was relatively new in good working condition then £500 for that lot would be a great price. However, with no other information available it is not possible to advise.
Moos3h
That's not a particularly amazing price, it's not a BAD deal but in my eyes, it works out as: Head - £150-200 max depending on condition (EQ sliders are often broken on these) 210p - £100-125 115tp - £100-125 So totting that lot up it's either £350 if you're being conservative, or £450 if you love it and it's in exceptional condition. There's wiggle room in those prices Cheers, James

Bankai
Danke. I'll get some pictures and post them up here.
Bankai
One other thing. The head is 350w into 4 ohms. 240w into 8 ohms. Both cabs are 150 @ 8 ohms. I'm not too sure on what this works out to as I don't fully understand the relation between impedance and rms. Could someone tell me what the power output would be if I used 1 cab, and what it'd be if I used both. And whether I could only use one without putting the cabs in danger. Thanks. The wattage of the amp is higher than the combined wattage of the cabs though (if you're using both) so watch out for overdriving it. It's not a massive difference though, so as long as you're easy on the volume it should be ok.
Bankai
Ok. So if when using both it's 350w, in theory each cab will be recieving 175w?

lemmywinks
The 1x15 has had the driver replaced, should be aluminium like the 2x10 shouldn't it? EDIT: Looks like the head has had a knob replaced with a chrome one too Edited February 18, 2010 by lemmywinks
Bankai
I noticed the different cone and have asked about it, yet good shout on the knob, I hadn't seen that.
neilb
Have you played through it with your bass? Do YOU like the sound?
Bankai
Haven't seen it or heard it in person yet but I'll be taking a trip to the store shortly to try it.
lemmywinks
I sold my Hartke gear a year ago, tbh for not a great deal more than what this guy was asking and it was all better gear too I had the 1x15 XL and 4x10 XL cabinets, sold for £110 and £180 respectively. The 4x10 was the USA one too, both were in tip top condition. I sold my HA5500 for about £220 - £230 i think. Both the cabs came with proper covers and a decent lead, i also chucked in a usable but roughed-up VXL pedal with the head. I had to do some pretty radical price reductions to get them moving from the initial price I'd be aiming at about £350 absolute tops for this rig. Do you know what speaker is in the 1x15? If it's been replaced with a cheapy it'll be next to useless, unless you fancy a Harte-branded footstool!

Ok, thanks for the help, I've asked about the speaker and will post up when I've got a response. I'm always looking around on the forum here as well to try and find something else that'd be suitable. I have a thing in that I hate to mix brands i.e. a Peavey Head and a Mesa Cab. I'm only after a head+cab from the same manufacturer. Had an offer of a Laney R9 and R410 for £200 plus delivery which I might take (simply for the fact it's a hell of a lot cheaper), i'm not sure if the sound quality will be much of a sacrifice. I can spend up to about £700 and there's a few things around for that price. I'm waiting for the perfect thing to come up
steelman
I think its a bit overpriced too.... I paid £200.00 for a HA3500 head ( off here) which is in much better condition with case. I got a 2X10 VX series cab ( off here) 250 watt for £80.00. I got a MAG 115 ( off here ) 250 watt for £80.00 so do the maths.... Unless you're all too generous ( on here!)
