dudewheresmybass Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 hi. in my surfing around i found this: http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/...Tuner-Pedal/CGB it doesn't seem to be listed on tghe ashdown site, and the details given here are a mixture of seemingly differing ads! anyone heard anything about this yet? dannybuoy Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 What an awful monstrosity of a pedal! Quote
Grand Wazoo Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Besides... knowing Ashdown gear, it'll work fine for a year then you take it to a gig and it dies on you just because it didn't like the van you drove it in. Quote
Mr. Foxen Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 I think a tuner is a good candidate for being a really big pedal, but not sure they use the space as well as they could have there. Quote
Rich Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 I agree. The VU meter is fairly pointless and the row of LEDs could have been halved in size, but I like the feck-off great big digital readout. Quote
lemmywinks Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 So it does what other tuners do and takes up double the pedalboard space? Nice one Ashdown! Quote

M4L666 Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Fack me, it's big. If the display was that big, maybe... Quote

I have the Korg DT-10. Its the most robust spot-on tuner I've owned. Even stands up to drunk rhythm guitarists stumbling onto it mid-gig... The LEDs are really clear on any stage and its completely silent, no nasty clicks. I can't enough good things about it, I had one Korg's rack tuners before that and again, so so good. Steve Quote
BigBassBob Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Unless this thing is accurate to 0.0000001 cents I don't see any reason to not spend another £20 and buy a Sonic Research ST-200. 0.02 cents accuracy guaranteed and it's less than half the size. Quote

Linus27 Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 This is how I would had designed it :) Quote

The 440hz green LED. Meaning that pedal is only good for telling us where all sharp Quote

I'd still omit the cheesy "Bass-o-meter" logo though, makes it look mmore like a cheap kids' toy than a pedal Quote
EskimoBassist Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 That is genuinely one of the most disgusting pedals I have ever seen! I think Ashdown should just get back to making great Bass Amps, not like the outsourced cheap crap they are producing at the moment, and leave pedals like this to the others. Quote
