Hi, its time for me to sell my fender musicmaster bass. I have had it for about 15 years but I really don’t play bass much anymore so its time for it to move on to a new home. It dates from 1978 http://www.fender.com/uk/support/usa_instruments.php judging by its serial number S718769 It has a lovely short scale and was very easy to learn on. It has a lovely action and the neck is great. It is not in the best of condition. I sanded it to remove all the dents and then tried to fill some with some kind of filler with the intention of painting it. I never got round to painting it as I liked the look of it as it was. The finish that you see in the pictures is a mix of sanding sealer (most of the flat areas) bare wood ( areas that were sanded to remove dents) and some filler ( the slightly darker areas). The jack socket is a bit ropey, sometimes it can cut out. I guess it needs a clean and some joint soldered? There is a chip in the pick guard and some screws are missing. One of the original screws is missing from the tuners and has been replaced with a fitting, but not matching one. I’m not sure if the controls are original, one might be, one looks like the dial off a strat. The chrome has peeled off or been scraped off in some areas of the bridge and tuners. I had the frets done not long after I bought it but some of the frets show some wear. I don’t really know how the condition affects the price I realise that this is far from mint condition, so offers around £300? If thats not a realistic let me know. I will be back in Nottingham on Monday and it can be viewed by arrangement, although I only have a headphone amp to listen to it through. Easiest way to get in contact is through my email mapwin at yahoo dot co dot uk Cheers Martin Hmm, I can't get the photos to work they are all here http://www.flickr.com/photos/25355733@N08/
PM replied to
