Spector thread

The wood pattern can really vary on the Euros. Ive seen almost plain ones, highly flamed, deep quilted (like mine) and some really mismatched ones. Think its pot luck on what they have kicking about and you need to see it in the flesh really.

Here's a curio,
My first Spector was an NS2000/4 (bought in '99). I've since owned and sold another. I've never seen that model with anything other than dot markers 'til I came across this pic on talkbass (the one on the left). I suspect they've been retro-fitted (like the naff gold tuners). Any ideas?

See the diamond at the 21st fret? These are third-party aftermarket stick-on jobs. I bought some a wile back, but couldn't bring myself to apply them. I sold my Legends and bought a Euro instead, which luckily has proper MOP crown inlays... :)

I quite like the gold tuners... or would do if they were matched with a gold bridge...

The finish is f&%king awesome!
While I have your attention... I'm looking for a string change (and yes I'm aware there's a recent string thread been started up). For no particular reason I've used Elites Stadium 105 guage for years. I play finger style mostly off the front pickup with middling treble and the bass on 11! Seriously I only have the bass on nine and a half. Oh and something with black binding would be nice.

What?! You've sold it already? Something awesome must've come along, you were so impressed with the Spector!

A very difficult decision. I was indeed, and still am, very impressed with that Euro but yes, I have the opportunity to acquire something very special to me. I will be getting another Euro at some point though, they are incredible basses.
