BassBod Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 First some photos.. [attachment=43125:P1000108.JPG][attachment=43126:P1000109.JPG][attachment=43127:P1000113.JPG] This is a maple jbass neck, about ten years old and probably of japanese origin. Has a mature oil finish, fitted with Gotoh nickel reverse tuners, nut, string retainer and extra strap button on the back. Neck heel is "standard fender" ie its fitted well on a couple of Fender/style bodies. Rosewood board, de-fretted and veneers fitted - then given a thin superglue varnish to protect the fingerboard and add a Jaco-style growl to the sound. I did all the work, so its not a pro job...but its also not bad! Perfectly playable, unless you want the action super-low. I used a radius block etc and have used this neck quite happily for a few years. I'm tempted to put this on a bass again, but I'm having a clear out. Collection from Bristol/Bath area..pm questions, as usual
King Tut Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Wow - that's got some nice grain going on - front and back! free bump!
BassBod Posted February 21, 2010 Author Posted February 21, 2010 Ta for the bump - it may only be a humble japanese "bitser" neck, but its a great profile, and there's nothing like an old oil finish...
BassBod Posted March 1, 2010 Author Posted March 1, 2010 One last bump, before it goes back to being a Jbss again...
