Mod_Machine Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 That's pretty much it? I saw the vid last night and only got a quick glimpse of the bass being played by Noel. Im not even an oasis fan so not after that particular sound- just wonder what bass it was and cant find the info on google. Any help much appreciated! Cheers Mod_Machine Quote
Mod_Machine Posted February 21, 2010 Author Posted February 21, 2010 I want! Bit on the expensive side for me-anyone know any good, well priced copies? Quote
Bassassin Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 There's never been a "proper" 4005 copy - there are some late 60s/early 70s medium-scale Rick-ish basses, like bass on this page: http://www.fetishguitars.com/html/general/shaftesbury.html But these are more based on Rick guitar designs. The closest thing I've ever seen is a late 60s Aria RB350: This one's owned by a JapCrap collector in Canada & is the only example I've ever seen! Realistically, if you're after a bass with a similar vibe to the 4005 you could do far worse than the Italia Rimini Jon. Quote
acidbass Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 LOVE the 4005 that Liam plays in that video, and the sound on the record is one of my favourite recorded bass sounds to date (although I'm not 100% sure that it was definitely a Rick they used, could stretch to 95% though!) Quote
Cat Burrito Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 I love the look of those Rickenbacker 4005. Oasis always do have cool looking instruments Quote

Saw 'em on their last tour and the bassist was using a Rick 4001 (or perhaps a 4003, couldn't really make it out from where I was standing. Good taste son! Quote
