Having a crack at bass after years of playing a regular six string.

Wondered if anyone can suggest a decent theory/technique book for me to peruse?

you could do a lot worse than having a swim through the theory and technique pages of this forum. There's also the major's boot camp

Any Theory book will do,no need to be bass specific. Theory is the same for all
instruments.
