HoweDy
Hi guys, been playing lots of stuff over the last few years, from mark king, marcus miller, flea etc etc, im getting a little bored of slap bass now, i have been learning hit me with you rhythm stick by ian dury recently so..... My point is, does anyone have any ideas for songs that i could learn that do not have slap bass in? Cheers

Thunes![/quote] I thank 'ee Not at all difficult technically, but if you can play it with the sheer power, grace and musicality that Thunes did, you are a bass hero in my book. Doddy
'Valley Girl' by Zappa is a great track-Scott Thunes' tone is awesome. How about something like 'Everyday People' by Sly and the Family Stone? Larry Graham only plays one note, but it's a bugger to make groove hard. Or try 'If you want me to stay' again by Sly and the Family Stone, but with Rusty Allen on Bass. What about some old Michael Jackson? 'I want you back' (Wilton Felder) and 'Rock with you' (Bobby Watson) spring to mind.
