The charge pump circuit its a touch noisy if it's placed before overdrive and compression but I use it last. Might build a bigger one with space for larger smoothing capacitors! Quote

I used a charge pump for the bias voltage on a 1176 compressor and was pretty nervous, as I'd heard that dreaded whine on an earlier project, but it's completely silent. I put 4.7uF surface mount MLCCs from the -ve output to ground on the back of the board under the chip, followed by 10 ohms and another pair of 4.7uFs. And decoupled directly between the power pins on the chip. good luck! Quote
LukeFRC Posted February 24 Posted February 24 So as well as the one I’ve already shown… this happened 4 Quote
LukeFRC Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Why a tiny little fiddly thing that needs expensive parts? well this is it compared to a 1590a size pedal - slightly wider - untill you plug something in and here is it compared to a 125b side - think standard size for a walrus pedal so it can take up way less space than a larger pedal. I think if they had side jacks that clashed you could fit two of these in the space of a 1590b MXR size enclosure. That’s with EBS Gold cables too! the downside is fiddlyness more expensive parts and probably not being able to use just any patch lead!! That’s EBS gold cables and a Cioks power cable. 4 Quote
