The multiwave mega from parasit studios, microcontroller based wavetable synth - the guy is a genius. I bought the PCB with the microcontroller and decided to add the OLED option. He only provides the hex file for the OLED and that's it, because he doesn't think it's DIY friendly, which he's not wrong about. I got my friend who works at an aluminium fabricators to cut the rectangular hole in the enclosure, but he had trouble with it being a diecast box and had to make it a lot bigger to get rid of cracks.
tauzero
Rectangular holes are tricky - I've done them by drilling out enough room for a power file and using that to make the hole rectangular, but it's not perfect and some hand finishing is needed. A laser cutter would do it but it would have to be a bit more powerful than a hobby one.

Passinwind
And the new econo one, using through-hole parts all sourced from Tayda, and a very inexpensive Tayda case in a pre-drilled standard format they do for various Pedal PCB effects, which they also printed for me: ......................................... Compared to the one pictured directly above, this would take a hobby DIY builder maybe 1/4 of the build time. Once it's well tested all the details will be available here: https://github.com/Passinwind/PW3B-LPF Edited May 6, 2023 by Passinwind

Passinwind
And a different color shifting enclosure from Cusack/Stompbox Parts for this one: That enclosure came via a group buy, but the vendor says they may make it a regular option since it sold so well.
DaleASmith
Has anyone built a frequency split pedal here? Either fixed or variable. Single input, high and low output.

I haven’t built one but Rod Elliott has a variable frequency crossover design that I guess would do the job?

LukeFRC
It's not a DIY effect at all but thought this would be the place where gut shots of a v2 colourbox would be appreciated ... lots of things going on in there. And no I couldn't work out what the HPF was doing to work out how to mod it...

The one in the studio is pretty smashed up and needs a service (channel 1 freq knob can trigger a cascade of brutal feedback at it's frequency setting and needs careful wiggling to stop), and has been hacked about so the limiter is no longer available. tauzero
A couple of kits assembled and working. HPF/LPF - https://schalltechnik04.de/en/instructions/vong-filterung - kits from https://www.musikding.de/VONG-Filterung-filter-kit 12dB/octave rolloff, variable frequency. Really must prettify this somewhat. At least the enclosure was pre-drilled so it doesn't look like the holes were made with a hammer and blunt chisel. Subsonic filter - https://guitar-electronics.eu/en_US/c/SUBSONIC-FILTER/84 24dB/octave rolloff below 27Hz (see the PCB for details).
