It is a rotary switch (4 positions) for routing the input signal: Effects, Normal, Series, Parallel. Like the original.

bobbass4k
There's a couple of PCBs I want from deadendfx - anybody interested in splitting shipping? I think they've had issues in the past shipping to the UK so they'll only ship super fancy fast tracked and it's $48...I'll just pay it if need be cos one of them is a pretty years clone and I need that in my life, but if anyone wants anything, good chance to save on shipping... https://www.deadendfx.com/

I'm pretty tempted by the Pompei, but I think my PCB build backlog now exceeds my likely years remaining. I think I still have a deadendfx board to make, though I can't remember what it is... good luck - someone must want something!
LukeFRC
That’s cool project! Not really needing anything though myself - trying to slow down building things ‘just beacause’!
Bassybert
Being a fan of Bob Weston's grinding/snarling bass tone in Shellac, I've just ordered a TS-50B kit from Musikding - https://www.musikding.de/TS-50-Bass-Preamp-kit I believe it's pretty identical to the Tronographic Rusty Box bit with a toggle switch instead of a foot switch for the boost function. It's the first time I've ordered anything from them - Has anyone had any experience with Aion/Musikding? Cheers

Cheers I haven't, but thanks for the share - that's a really interesting circuit, never seen anything like it. It's like a dirty version of the Trace dual band compressor, only with three bands and clipping instead of 'nice' compression. That 'middle' control - I can't see how it could do anything other than cut the bass as it's turned anticlockwise. Fully clockwise C7 and C8 are out of circuit and the preamp goes straight to the tone stack. Am I missing something? Also a Shellac/Jesus Lizard/Big Black bass tone fan. I believe a Rat might also be an ingredient of David Wm Sims' tone. cheers Edited October 30 by bremen added remarks having looked at the schematic

LukeFRC
I think I've just laid out a Prunes and Custard for a Gorva M45 with all top jacks! So that's just slightly wider than a 1590a size!! Also found having a batch of 10 screen printed isn't crazy expensive

Also found having a batch of 10 screen printed isn't crazy expensive though of course I would kinda be fun to get UV printing and do a small run... but of course it's also mad and a pain in the bottom - why would I even think of that? Good to order from directly as well - they're US based but shipping isn't too bad and Musikding don't sell their bare PCBs anymore. Musikding also great - quick despatch and I've never had any customs/import issues post-brexit. Never had a kit from though TBF, I usually buy bare PCBs.

Yup, the conspiracy to commit electronics boards - there's the Noble clone, the bassman and the soldano GTO (high gain) - all excellent and easy builds (HV safety aside). I'm actually enjoying the noble a lot, it's a nice always on pre-recording interface and it takes pedals well.

Adding a couple of resistors and a cap to the middle control would turn the control into a variable "scoop". Like the "classic" setting on the ampeg svp CL. As it's shown on their schematic it's just a bass cut. I can post an annotated schematic if you're interested, and when I'm near a computer. I'm still waiting for it, have chased it up and have had an email from Klaus today saying it's been shipped so hopefully won't be long 🤞🏼. Cheers Kit has just turned up today - Unfortunately minus the BBS enclosure which is on backorder 😢. Hopefully won't be long before it arrives. In typical German style everything looks top notch, all labelled and bagged into different part types. They've even included pre-cut hookup wire with the insulation partly stripped which I haven't seen with a kit before. The PCB itself from Aion looks really nice, well laid out and has a nice satin finish, again a first for me as I've never seen a PCB with that kind of coating. Might do a little build diary!
