yep, ive been trawling those.
I'm changing all the resistor and cap values to match those of a green russian big muff. also think there may be a coulple of componants in a different order on torchies layout.

anyway, parts ordered, Forgot the knobs so and a couple of componants for the power supply so the will have to maplin it up for them :)

Here's this weekend's project - a nice little veroboard circuit and a classic fuzz-style overdrive clone. It uses a CD4049UBE hex inverter chip to cascade gain stages to produce a pretty good usable overdrive tone. For me its somewhere in the middle of a fuzz and a tubescreamer-type distortion. Well worth a build.

Right lads, I'm in a need of some parts that I can't find anywhere

It's all capacitors so if any of you could help me out I would apreciate it :)

I'm after :

4 x 0.05uF
2 x 0.0027uF
1 x 5pF
1 x 0.0027uF
1 x 0.0033uF
1 x 0.0047uF
1 x 0.033uF
1x 0.047uF

Who can help

Have you tried Bitsbox? Fast delivery & good prices. They should have all of those caps.

You may find this useful as well
For example 0.0027uF = 2.7nF

What are you building BTW?

Cheers

I must be blind coz I can find them :)

I'm "attempting" to build : Small Clone Chorus, Rebote 2 Delay and MXR Envelope Filter all of them based on tonepad.com projects! I'm just ordering parts and stuff but couldn't find those capacitors anywhere!

try....

http://www.justradios.com/uFnFpF.html

to convert cap values.

try mouser.com they have a bewildering range of stuff.

Impressive stuff you're making! Im having a go at the small clone from tonepad. Buying a board from them. I'll keep up with how your build is going!
has anyone ordered printed PCBs from tonepad before? what are the delivery times like?
It takes about 2 weeks to arrive, I've ordered 5 pcb and had to pay about £10 in vat and other stuff!

Posted

I ordered a few weeks back and got worried they still existed! The guy emailed back to confirm for me!
Yeah is it £12 or more and you have to start paying VAT?

Going back to my drill dillemas, my local DIY store didn't have any cone step drill bit things. A 12 mm bit was £13! In the sale a Bosch 100 bit set of bits and screw driver heads was only £14. I bought that, used a 10mm and wiggled!

All holes drilled, painted red, all parts in way. Im just short two resistors and one cap for rigging up the power supply inside. Oh and I forgot to order knobs. :)

in fact.... i have a load of these in cream, 19mm for 6.3mm shafts

need 3/4 more knobs of some kind. anybody got any spare i could have off you? (should prob put this in the items wanted bit but think wil get more views here from ppl who build things)

I have 3 of those that I will not be using http://www.musikding.de/product_info.php/i...black-14mm.html

hi guys,
i want to build a sound to light unit that i can plug into.

i've found a drawing which i think should work. It uses a 12v circuit, but i want to power it using a 9v battery. is this going to be a problem?

as far as i see it i'm going to need a box to allow me to take a feed from the main signal, but without losing the main line, in order to make it work

is this going to be a simple - ish job?

sorry for so many questions!

Can you post the drawing/schematic for the unit?

so the transistor lets through the current when it gets a signal from the guitar? to flash the lights on?
Is it compensated for a guitar level input?

okay, next question. what do you want it for? at the moment if that cuircuit works (and I don't know enough about electronics to kknow if it does) when the input signal gets above a certain level the lights go on. There is no way of setting the level.
depending on what you want it for would this kit work? it may be easy to modify the mic input into a jack input.... and if it worked it would flash according to volume...
this is it:

i was going to change the jack plug for a 1/4" socket, and run it from what i would describe as a side chain.

any ideas?
It looks fairly simple to acomplish, you can however expand on this project and put in a sound sensor as well which would react to the music being played, sort of a effect of flashing disco lights.

Right chaps, whilst the paint on my effects is drying up I was contemplating over the idea of building a dc brick. There are 2 sensible ones I can find.

First is tonepad project using LM317 voltage regulator with total cost of around £40 :

http://www.tonepad.com/getFile.asp?id=111

Second is general guitar gadgets using flatpack transformer with total cost of around £30 :

http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/pdf/gg...ower_supply.pdf

To be honest the tonepad project appeals to me more than the ggg one but I might be wrong, wht are your thoughts ? There's also a question if any of you built one ? If you did how quiet is it and is it difficult ?

Cheers
Jack

i think the GGG one will be easier to set up if you only want 9v and both should have similar noise levels. Personally if i was doing my own pedal power supply i'd go alot more overkill and completely destroy the noise!
